Videography Portfolio

  • Experience

After taking full advantage of Hurtwood House’s media facilities for my A-levels. I actively sought out opportunities in the film industry. Working as a production runner for “Nazi Megastructures” and “To Olivia” as well as covering production photography for “The Ark” (Short film). These large-scale sets gave me valuable insight into professional workflows, which I now apply directly to my on content planning and production.

  • Quality

With years worth of expeirence in both film and producing my own content, I am now confident in being able to supply my clients with high quality, impactful final products.

Shooting such a large variety of content forms has helped me immensly in strengthening my technical skills in camera work, lighting, sound, and crew management. All of which I bring to every production.

  • Motivation

I am committed to continuous growth as a videographer, keeping up with trends and refining my techniques to ensure my content remains fresh and effective. My focus is always on producing the best possible results for clients, while pushing myself to raise the standard of my work with every project.

RACE HIGHLIGHT VIDEOS

  • Going into a race weekend. The preperation is hugely important. From charging and cleaning all the equipment, to organising people to man cameras and give any training necessary.

I’ve learnt that this process will set the entire tone for the weekend. Providing itiniraries and in-depth pre event brieifings will benefit all involved and make sure we all get the most content out of the day.

  • When it comes to the shoot day. I set up two on-track cameras and rig GoPro’s both around the circuit and on to drivers.

I then direct the camera people as I fly the drone for the race higlights video. From here I can tell the camera operators where action is happening on track whilst simultaniously filming for the video.

As the race concludes, I land the drone and dismantle the closest track cam to shoot intervies and podiums. Before rotating all batteries and SD cards in preperation for the next race.

  • These videos have ben my first experience in multi-cam editing. Syncing up all the footage manually, I’ll then scrub through highlighting moments that are highlight worthy.

From here I cut between feeds on the timeline until the entire race is cut into highlighted segments. From here I will cut out the large chunks of dead footage. Bring the highlt segments together and clean up the timeline to try and reduce clutter.

  • Probably the most laborious part of these videos. At the beginning of the season I will have as many of these pre-made as possible. Just changing context dependant text when needed. I do the majority of my motion graphics in after effects, exporting them to Premiere where I edit the rest of the highlights.

The grid up and race finish animations come first. Making sure to take extra care in spelling drivers names correctly.

Then the lap counter, complete with entry animations.

After this I create the current battles graphics as PNG images in photoshop that I overlay and can cut between quickly.

The last in-race graphics are the “current driver” overlay on top of onboard videos.

The final graphics I make for the videos are the interview overlays. Compiled in Photoshop, they contain championship standings, sponsors and event information.

  • The final stages before posting comes with the audio. Blending track and kart audio to keep a smooth base sound.

Once that is mixed I’ll add the commentary track and some subtle music to keep a high energy throughout the video.

I then check if there is any more cleaning up I can do on the timeline so if I ever need to refer back to segments in the future, I can open the file and have everything organised and ready to go.

PRODUCT LAUNCHES

  • The case study I am using in this section is my most recent large scale campaign at Daytona. Launching their new line of DMAX karts.

Firstly, we sat down as a team and drew up an outline of what we wanted to say with our campaign (Come and drive our new Karts, the fastest in the UK). What methods we would use to deliver this message (Email, website articles, social content, video content, photography). And finally a road map for creating all of this content in time for their launch.

I was tasked with creating all the photo and video content for the launch. I got to work planning what videos I wanted to make and how to keep the content all looking cohesive for the launch.

  • Directing, filming and editing all the video and photo content for the campaign gave me a lot of freedom to follow my own vision and get on with shooting the content quickly.

However, it was still formed and focussed around the messaging and look of the larger campaign. Keeping a cohesive vision across all aspects of the campaign is extremely important in the customer journey and keeping the branding and messaging clear.

As you can see in the reveal video, the primary action points of the campaign are stated clearly, with the visuals built around them to add hype and energy into the messaging.

  • A full list of content I provided for this campaign was as follows:

    • Launch reveal video

    • Technical analysis video
